To keep your brushless motor operating at maximum performance, it is important that the bearings in your motor be properly maintained. This is especially true of helicopter motors that often spin in excess of 45,000 RPM. In an average flight, a helicopter motor spins around almost a quarter million times! Without proper lubrication, the balls in the bearings can wear out quickly, leading to premature failure.

A motor bearing lubrication kit to help extend the life of the bearings in your Scorpion brushless motor. This kit contains a 25cc bottle of bearing lubricant and two needle point applicator nozzles. One nozzle is 1" long, and will work with the 22mm and 30mm motors, and the other nozzle is 1.5" long to use with 40mm and larger motors.

The oil included in the kit is a special product that actually bonds to the metal parts, and resists being thrown out by the high speed and centrifugal forces inside the bearings. A small drop placed on each bearing about once every 10 flights is enough to maintain proper lubrication to insure the longest possible life for your motor bearings..

The oil is safe for use on Acrylics, Polyester, Nylon, Vinyl, Delrin, Teflon, Formica, Polyethylene and Polypropylene. It is also safe on most painted surfaces. There is no visible effect on Buna-N, Viton or Neoprene rubber products, so it is safe around most fuel lines, o-rings and other rubber products.

Scorpion motors are built with hardened steel shafts that will last through countless hours of flying fun, but occasionally, on a "Less than Perfect" landing, you may bend or break one. For these occasions, we offer factory replacement shafts for all the Scorpion Motors. The 22mm, 30mm and 40mm motor shaft kits include an original equipment factory shaft with the setscrew keyways already cut, a new shaft retaining collar, and a replacement setscrew for the retaining collar. The HK 22mm series shafts are retained by a setscrew at the can end and a circlip at the output shaft end.

Note: The shafts in all Scorpion motors are a slight press fit into the aluminium front housing. The shafts will not just slide out when the setscrews are removed. They need to be pressed out in a bearing press, or in a drill press, with the front housing of the motor supported in a block of wood to prevent warping the front housing. This document explains the technique for using a pillar drill to change a motor shaft.

HK motor shaft kits include an original equipment factory shaft with the setscrew keyway already cut, a new spacer washer, and a set of 3 retaining clips. This way, when one goes flying and bounces off the wall while you are trying to install it, never to be found again, you still have a couple more to try again!

Note: The bearings are an exact fit into the motor housings, so they do fit snugly. When removing the old bearings, you may need to gently tap them out. However, when installing the new bearings, do not tap them in with anything, as this can dent the ball races and ruin the bearings. When installing ball bearings they need to be pressed in by the outer part of the race. Never apply pressure to the inner race, as this can damage the bearing and lead to premature failure.

Regular application of a light motor oil (e.g as contained in the Motor Lubrication Kit is recommended for long bearing life.

The Scorpion 22mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a pair of original equipment replacement bearings to fit all of the Scorpion 22mm S-Series motors, and the V1 versions of the Scorpion HK-2208, HK-2213 and HK-2216 size motors. The bearings measure 7mm OD x 3mm ID x 3mm thick, and are an exact replacement for the stock bearings that come with the motors.

The Scorpion HK-22mm V2 Motor Bearing Kit includes a pair of original equipment replacement bearings to fit the later series Scorpion HK-22mm Series motors. There are two bearings in the kit. The first measure 8mm OD x 4mm ID x 3mm thick, And the second measures 11mm OD x 4mm ID x 4mm thick, and are an exact replacement for the stock bearings that come with the motors.

The Scorpion 30mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a set of three original equipment replacement bearings to fit all of the Scorpion 30mm S-Series motors. The rear bearing measures 10mm OD x 5mm ID x 4mm thick, and the front bearings measure 8mm OD x 5mm ID x 2.5mm thick.

The Scorpion HK-3026 Version 2 motor bearing kit includes a set of original equipmnt replacement bearings to fit the Scorpion HK-3026 Series Version 2 helicopter motors (the current HK-3026 motor is version 2). The bearing kit contains 2 bearings: one bearing that measures 13mm OD x 5mm ID x 4mm thick for the output end, plus another that measure 10mm OD x 5mm ID x 4mm thick.

The Scorpion 40mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a set of three original equipment replacement bearings to fit all of the Scorpion 40mm S-Series motors. The rear bearing measures 13mm OD x 6mm ID x 5mm thick, and the front bearings measure 10mm OD x 6mm ID x 3mm thick.

The Scorpion HK-40mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a set of two original equipment replacement bearings to fit all of the Scorpion HK-40mm Series motors (HK-4020, HK-4025 and HK-4035). The bearings measures 16mm OD x 8mm ID x 5mm thick.

All of the Scorpion 22mm motors include a cross style backplate mount, but occasionally, you need a spare or a replacement. The Scorpion Cross Mount is designed to fit the back of the Scorpion motors and provide a method for mounting the motor to a model's firewall. The Scorpion Stick Mount is designed to fit to the back of a 22mm motor and provide a mounting point to a 10mm or 3/8" square motor mount stick. All Scorpion mounts are made from strong aluminium alloy and finished in a durable and attractive black Electro-Coat finish. To finish off the look, the Scorpion Logo is laser engraved on the side of the mount to match your Scorpion Motor. The mount comes packaged with four 3mm machine screws to attach it to the back of your motor.

The 22mm mount weighs only 1.5 grams by itself, and with the 4 screws, it weighs 2.4 grams. The hole spacing on the back of the mount measures 16mm center to center in one direction, and 19mm center to center on the other. With this standard hole spacing, the Scorpion 22mm Cross mount will not only fit the Scorpion Motors, it will also fit many other small brushless motors with a 16 or 19mm hole spacing.

The mount weighs only 3.5 grams by itself, and with the 4 screws, it weighs 4.4 grams. The hole spacing on the back of the mount measures 16mm center to center on the vertical pair of holes, and 19mm center to center on the horizontal pair of holes. With this standard hole spacing, the Scorpion Stick mount will not only fit the Scorpion Motors, it will also fit other motors with a 16 or 19mm hole spacing.

This threaded prop adapter is the same one that is included with 3008, 3014, 3020, 3026 and 3032 series Scorpion brushless motors. Machined from high-quality aluminium bar stock, it is designed to fit on a 5mm motor shaft, and has a 6mm threaded prop shaft. The Scorpion 5mm threaded prop adapter weighs 8.8 grams, and can be used on any brushless motor with a 5mm shaft.

This Threaded Prop Adapter is the same one that is included with 4020, and 4025 series Scorpion Brushless motors. Machined from High-Quality Aluminum bar stock, it is designed to fit on a 6mm motor shaft, and has a 8mm threaded prop shaft. The prop shaft length is 33mm (1.30 inches) so there is plenty of room for a prop and spinner backplate. The Scorpion 6mm Threaded Prop Adapter weighs 22 grams, and can be used on any brushless motor with a 6mm shaft.

Machined from high-quality aluminium bar stock, it is designed to fit on an 8mm motor shaft, and has a 8mm threaded prop shaft. The thread pitch on the shaft is a metric fine 8 x 1.0mm (M8). The prop shaft length is 33mm (1.30 inches) so there is plenty of room for a prop and spinner backplate. The Scorpion 8mm threaded prop adapter weighs 26 grams, and can be used on any brushless motor with a 8mm shaft.
