Actuators | Rotary Output Servos | Linear Output Servos
Controls for micro models generally fall into two categories: magnetic actuators and traditional motor/gear servos (rotary or linear output). At the smaller end of the modelling spectrum (less than 10g auw), actuators are the only viable solution. For the mid range (over 10g up to 30g), both actuators and servos are used - the smallest servos overlap the largest actuators in weight and output torque.

Plantraco Hinge Actuator (0.23g) £13.70Hinge Actuator: at 0.23gm this is the lightest pre-assembled magnetic actuator for micro R/C flying. Wire leads are about 18 cm length and require soldering onto the receiver pads. Self Centering. Torque vs weight ratio is good! 150 Ohm coil, 0.06mm copper magnet wire.
Plantraco Micro Actuator (0.41g) £12.95The MicroAct weighs approx 0.4g. It as 16cm (approx) leads with nano-connector - plugs right into the Micro9 receiver. This version of the actuator can be used in hinges and has plastic flanges under the base to fix to rudder or elevator if desired.
Plantraco Mini Actuator (1.1g) £12.00The MiniAct weighs approx 1.1 g and provides ample power for most indoor R/C aircraft. The Nano Connector plugs right into the Micro9 receiver - very good for beginnners - plug and play!
Plantraco Nano Actuator (0.07g) £4.55The lightest commercially available actuator but requires assembling into the control surface. Resistance 75 ohms, weight 0.07g, I.D. 3mm, O.D. 3.8mm. Supplied as actuator coil with 12cm leads and separate 2 x 1.5mm N50 magnets.
Blue Arrow 2.5g Servo £7.80This servo is ideal for lightweight indoor models and the weight can be reduced to less than 2g by removing the lower case and replacing the servo leads with enamelled copper wire.

The operating force is 35gm and the speed is 0.12s at 4.2V for a linear travel of 8mm.
Spektrum AS2000 1.5g Micro Servo £16.80Designed to work in conjunction with Spektrum's AR6400 ultra-micro receiver, this linear servo plugs into an open port to expand the controls on your micro aircraft. Each servo comes with a servo reverser which is used to reverse the direction of a AR6400 port (it is used to program the AR6400 port and is not left in circuit during normal use).
Spektrum AS2000L 1.7g Micro Long Throw Servo £16.80A long throw version of the AS2000 servo designed for use with the AR6400L and weighing only 0.2g more.
