Royal Mail have announced a significant price increase which takes effect on April 30th. The price increase is too large for us to absorb and so we will have to increase our postal charge to a minimum of £5.00. International, large or heavy items will require additional postage charge; please refer to our Shipping Policy for details.
GoBrushless Motor Kits
Home-made brushless motors, also referred to as CD-ROM motors, have become very popular among electric flight enthusiasts. Why? Because they offer the performance potential found in high-priced, commercial motors without the added expense. The only problem is that finding suitable parts from salvaged CD-ROM drives is a rare occurrence, and this makes building motors with repeatable performance a near impossible task.
GoBrushless have been providing components and do-it-your self kits to US constructors for some time. The kits containing all the components needed to successfully build a brushless outrunner motor. Perhaps more importantly, the kits allow you to build as many motors as you wish, whether they're completely identical or each one is unique.
Low cost, easy to build brushless outrunner kit based on the GB 22.7mm 9-pole stator. Uses CDROM stock components and supplied with ball bearings.
New improved version is now fully assembled, magnets are glued in place, shaft is now pressed into the bell and stator is pressed on to the new aluminum bearing tube. Download the GBv tutorial.
The kit contains the following parts:
GBx Kits
The GBx kits are a GoBrushless design composed of custom-made parts to allow you to build stronger, more powerful, more efficient motors. One, two and three stator kits are available allowing you to match the motor to your aeroplane.
The GBx kit is available in one, two and three stator form and each kit contains:
GBx motors are easily mounted by sliding the aluminium bearing tube into a carbon fibre tube and fixing using a small amount of epoxy or CA.
Magnets are supplied loose and are fixed into the stator using epoxy or CA. The tutorial documents explain how to do this with minimum of fuss. A template for spacing the magnets may be downloaded from the GoBrushless web site, printed onto thin card and cut out. Alternatively, a high-density reusable spacer is available - very useful if you intend making more than one motor as the card version doesn't last.
Ultra-lightweight and super-strong, the firewall motor mount sport two separate hole patterns (tapped M3.5x.5) spaced to match SP400 and SP300 mount patterns.
Quick and easy-to-build outrunner kit based on the GB 17.8mm 9-pole stator. The #1 brushless motor kit for Cox warbirds, F3P, and indoor 3D.
Featuring state-of-the-art craftsmanship and competition-grade materials, MiniGBx. kits are the ultimate brushless outrunner kits for Cox warbirds, F3P, and indoor 3D. Sculpted around the GB 17.8mm stators, these kits are the most versatile in their league. And weighing in at as low as 11 grams, it's perfect for even your smallest aircraft.
The MiniGbx cutting-edge endbell features extremely efficient cooling and low mass, while a stepped bearing tube minimizes weight, wicks away heat, and enables drop-in replacement of any motor with an 8mm mount. Anodizing throughout for protection from the elements, high-grade ball bearings, and modular design guarantees that your motor will last a very, very long time.
Each MiniGBx kit contains:
The MiniGBx motors are pre-assembled with ball bearings and stator mounted, magnets installed, and shaft & flux ring pre-pressed. All that's left is to do the winding!
22 turns of 28awg (29swg) is a good wind for the Mini-GBx:
Micro GBx is a kit for the 10g brushless outrunner built around a 13.99mm 9-pole stator. Made in Asia, these kits are for you who wish to build a small brushless motor.
Each MicroGBx. kit contains:
These kits are pre-assembled with ball bearings and stator mounted, magnets installed, and shaft & flux ring pre-pressed. All that's left is to do the winding.
Nano GBx kits are TINY 5g brushless outrunner kits built around a 11.15mm 12-pole stator. Made in Asia, these kits for you who wish to build a very small brushless motor.
12 stator poles and 16 magnets lets you use an easy ABC style of winding but be warned, a high power magnifier will be needed to see this one while winding it. Have Fun! Each NanoGBx. kit contains:
