Budget Brushless ESC
A range of low cost brushless controllers suitable for both in- and out- runner motors. Manufactured by a Chinese OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and widely available with a large variety of supplier labels. They are often referred to as 'Pentium' controllers - this is the HiWing product name (HiWing were one of the first suppliers to release a product based on these controllers). These controllers, while low cost, have proved to be reliable and efficient.
All controllers feature high rate PWM and a large input voltage range (4.8V to 17.9V: 6 to 12 NiCd/NiMH or 2 to 4 LiPo cells - exception is the 6A ESC which is max 3 cell LiPo). All controllers are programmable and can be setup via the TX throttle stick or by using an optional progamming card. They do play a tune during power-on initialisation (some people find this annoying) - the tune can only be disabled using the programming card.
The images below are of a representative sample of the controllers. They are all manufactured by the same company, irrespective of the label on the front. Micron obtains these controllers from a variety of sources and the actual controller supplied may not have the same label as shown in the image below.
The OEMRC 6A ESC modified with a JST connector and lightweight 3 pole motor connector, supplied with matching 3 pin plug and heatshrink for fitting to your motor leads. The JST connector is compatible with the Spektrum AR6300 and Blue Arrow R3P4 receivers.
