The Micron telephone line will close for the Christmas / New Year break at 4pm on Tuesday 20th December. We will continue to process and dispatch orders over the holiday, but the turn-round time will be longer than usual. We wish all of our customers a happy christmas and a successful 2012.

This aircraft was the mainstay fleet torpedo bomber of the British Navy during WW2 and affectionately known and the 'Stringbag'. This model is based on the aircraft still flying with the Royal Navy Historic Flight. Span 25in. The kit includes: printed balsa sheets and strip full size plans with detailed building and flying (F/F) instructions covering tissue and waterslide decals propeller for rubber power and contest quality rubber motor vacuum formed lightweight plastic wheels and spinner The Swordfish should be easy to convert to R/C. with rudder/elevator control. The rudder and elevators are built as separate parts and hinged with stiff wire on the F/F version. Either replace the wire with thin strips of acetate or hinge with strips of Blenderm tape. Make some control horms out of thin ply (or use the ready-made 9mm horns). Control linkages can be wire in tube (e.g. Dubro Pushrod Set) or closed-loop using DubBro D846. The 1800Kv version of the 10g 18mm brushless motor with a GWS 6x3 prop will provide plenty of thrust. The firewall supplied for use with the Gasparin CO2 motor can be used for mounting the electric motor. Use a couple of degress down and right thrust. For the R/C, use a pair of Blue Arrow SO361 servos with a Corona RS410II receiver and a budget 6A BL ESC, all powered from a Hyperion 180mAh or 240mAh 2S LiPo. Install the R/C components as far forward as possible. Make the bottom sheet between F2 and F6 removeable for access to the R/C and battery. For improved take off / land ability, you may wish to replace the included plastic wheels with a pair of 38mm lightweight foam Wheels. £ 34.80
